Dublin I love you!
We drove a lot through Ireland, and I've got a lot to tell you all, but one HUGE highlight for me was getting to Dublin. It's such a fun, happy place to be, no matter the rainy weather we had! There are some great bars and plenty oof wonderful music. We spent many happy hours just wandering around. I couldn't believe what a fantastic experience it all was. And better still, we had a ferry trip across the Irish sea to look forward to, with a trip to Liverpool. Getting from Dublin is so easy with all the choice of ferries to either Liverpool or Holyhead in Wales.
One highlight for the kids in Dublin was a visit to Dublania, one of the best tourist attractions in Dublin, Ireland. It will give you the full and complete perspective of Viking times in Ireland, making it great for kids as well as adults, and especially those who are lovers of all things to do with history. You can really immerse yourself into the ancient lifestyle, dressing up in the old style clothes - they even let you climb onboard of their scary longboats, visit the cramped and smoky houses, hear songs, poetry and sagas of their heroes and gods and learn everything you need to know about their culture. One of the things that you cannot miss is the History Hunters exhibition. It is the perfect opportunity to see the connection between history, archaeology and science. There you will be able to see genuine artefacts that were dug up from underneath Dublin. Considering the city appears in official documents dated back to 140 AD, you have a lot to see there.
